  Ondo State Police Command have arrested Prophet Festus James, for allegedly raping a woman with eight months’ pregnancy.   The Prophet was said to have committed the offence at Agbabu community in the Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.     Parading the suspect in Akure, the state capital, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, said James had Raped the woman under the pretext of performing private spiritual deliverance for her.   PPRO said, “James from Ibadan in Oyo State went to Agbabu village via Ore, claimed to be a prophet and that the holy spirit directed him to have a three days holy ghost revival in a church in the village. “The next day, the prophet claimed to have seen a vision concerning a 22-year-old lady who was eight months’ pregnant and told her to wait behind after the programme.   “He took the pregnant lady into one of the rooms in the mission house under the guise of delivering her from...

  Another storey building under construction in Flour Mill Estate in the Badagry area Lagos. collapsed on Wednesday.   A statement by Margaret Adeseye, Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed the tragedy. Adeseye said four persons have been rescued while an operation is underway to pull out those trapped. The official confirmed that the victims are mainly construction workers. They sustained varying degrees of injury but are in stable condition at nearby hospitals where they were rushed to.   Four people have been recovered (unconscious) thus far. “Nigeria Police, Morogbo Division and community dwellers are complimenting rescue efforts”, the statement added.  

  The Nigerian Navy has debunking the   rumours that Abdulgafar Ahmed Oluwatoyin,   known as Cute Abiola is missing. The popular comedian was declared missing by his fellow comedian, Mr Macaroni, who shared the news on his official Twitter account and attached a screenshot of the WhatsApp message he received. The Navy stated that Cute Abiola had been detained on the orders of the Nigerian Navy Headquarters and the last time Cute Abiola’s wife and associates heard from him was on November 15.   However, the Nigerian Navy shared a press release stating that he was arrested and not missing. In a statement titled, ‘Cute Abiola is not missing and   signed by   Navy   Commodore, Suleman Dahun. noted that the Instagram play maker is currently under investigation for breaching the Armed Forces social media rule policy in the use of social media platforms.

    The PDP National Working Committee (NWC)   has appointed Mr Julius Akinsola, as the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the Lagos State.   This was disclosed by the Party   National Organising Secretary, retired Col. Austin Akobundu in Abuja.   Akobundu said that Mr Ade Adeniyi would serve as the Secretary of the committee, other members included Mr Ademola Oyede, Dr Babs Akinlolu, Nuru Abiodun Lawal, Alhaja Babs Olorunkemi, Chief Alani Ige, Mrs Olabisi Odunsi, and Alhaji Bod “The caretaker committee is charged with the responsibility of running the affairs of the party in Lagos State as stipulated in Section 21(2)(a-b) of the PDP Constitution, for a period, not exceeding 90 days (from November to February 2022) until a new executive committee is elected. “All critical stakeholders, leaders and members of our great party in Lagos state and other parts of the country is by this guided accordingly,” Akobundu said.

  Former governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will rule Nigeria and Imo State again in 223.   Popularly Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho, must be given an unconditional     release. So says his supporters as they staged protest in their Thousands in Ibadan Oyo State.   The protesters carried placards with various inscriptions, demanding the immediate release of the activist currently in custody of the Republic of Benin.   Protest started from Igboho   residence in   Soka area of Ibadan and to the Toll Gate in Ibadan – Lagos Expressway.   Former   Edo State Gov. Lucky Igbinedion has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. (EFCC)   Premium Timesreports that Igbinedion who finished his tenure as governor in 2007 is being grilled at the Abuja headquarters of the EFCC for allegedly diverting public funds to the tune of N1.6 billion.   A loan obtained by the Edo State government is said to have been diverted to a company which he has an interest in.   Mr Igbinedion was prosecuted in 2008 by the EFCC and convicted of embezzling N2.9 billion belonging to Edo State.   He was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to a one count charge which was pruned from 191 charges.   The latest invitation was confirmed by the spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren who failed to give more details.
